Elsevier may also include information about your visit(s) in collective or aggregated data that does not identify you specifically. Elsevier is very concerned about privacy and guards your data carefully.

Elsevier currently does not disclose or sell any personal information collected at Scirus to other companies or organizations. In the future, should Elsevier decide to share your personal or transactional data, we will, in advance, provide notification and the opportunity for our users to indicate whether they would prefer us not to provide this information to others.
Our server recognizes your domain name, IP address and the pages that you visit. This data is gathered for the purposes of quality control and improving Scirus.
We collect your email address when you send an email to us so that we can respond to your inquiry.
We may install a small file called a "cookie" that identifies you as a unique user and that stores information about your use of Scirus. The cookie enables you to use Scirus more efficiently by identifying your preferences and to select the information you desire. Many improvements and updates to Scirus are based on such usage reports e.g. the total of number of visitors and pages. Most browsers are initially set up to accept cookies. You can reset your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie has been sent. However, note that some parts of Scirus will not function properly or may be considerably slower if you refuse cookies.
You should be aware that when you visit Scirus you could be directed to other sites. These sites are beyond our control. There are links to other web sites that take you outside Scirus. You should be aware that other web sites to which you link may contain privacy provisions which differ from Scirus and Elsevier privacy provisions.
We may collect information from you when you volunteer to do so on surveys and registration sites. If you do not wish to receive this information, please flag the appropriate check box when you register for personalized services. Additionally, internal practises help protect your privacy by limiting employee access to and use of customer data.
The foregoing policies are the current Scirus Online Privacy Policies. If we change this policy, we will put a notice on the Scirus Search page. Our statement and policies do not create a contract or any legal rights.
